1. Introduction

Welcome to Happy Paws Mia. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all pet care services, including boarding, daycare, add-ons, à la carte meals, and any related offerings.
By booking a service with us, you agree to these Terms and to comply with all applicable Florida and Miami-Dade County regulations.


2. Services Provided

We specialize in personalized care for small dogs (under 30 lbs), including:

  • Overnight Boarding
  • Daycare Services
  • Add-Ons & Premium Experiences
  • À la Carte Dining
  • Medication Administration (as needed)

We reserve the right to decline service to any pet that does not meet health, vaccination, or temperament requirements.


3. Health, Vaccination, and Age Requirements

For the safety of all guests:

  • Dogs must have a veterinary exam within the past 12 months.
  • Required vaccines include Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus), and Bordetella.
  • Dogs must be free of contagious illness, fleas, or ticks.
  • Minimum age for daycare is 12 weeks (unless otherwise approved).
  • All medication instructions must be clearly provided; incomplete instructions may result in refusal of service.

These policies follow general Florida veterinary and boarding standards.


4. Reservations, Cancellations, and Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit or partial payment may be required to confirm a booking.
  • Cancellations within [X hours/days] of the scheduled service may incur fees.
  • All remaining balances, add-ons, and late check-out charges must be paid at pickup.
  • Dogs not picked up within the designated hours may be subject to late fees or charged a full additional day.

5. Capacity and Personalized Care

To ensure safety and quality care:

  • We accept a maximum of 2 boarding dogs and 2 daycare guests at a time.
  • Private suites and one-on-one care are always available for dogs who prefer solitude or do not socialize well.

6. Care Standards and Liability

  • Dogs are supervised, walked, fed, and comforted according to their individual needs.
  • We do our best to maintain a safe environment, but minor incidents (scratches, play nicks) may occur.
  • We are not liable for pre-existing medical conditions not disclosed prior to check-in.
  • In case of emergency, we will contact the owner immediately. If urgent treatment is required, we will act in the dog’s best interest; all veterinary expenses are the owner’s responsibility.
  • In the event of abandonment, we follow Florida Statute §705.19, which allows surrender to local animal services or shelters after written notice.

7. Licensing, Zoning, and Local Compliance

  • Happy Paws Mia operates in accordance with Miami-Dade Animal Services licensing requirements for pet boarding and daycare.
  • We comply with sanitation, ventilation, and animal welfare standards for kennel-type operations.
  • The facility operates in a properly zoned residential area and maintains all necessary local business licenses.
  • All dogs over 4 months old must have a valid Miami-Dade pet license tag.

8. Add-Ons, Dining, and Premium Services

  • All add-ons and meals are optional and may be chosen at the time of booking or during the stay.
  • We can customize meals for dogs with allergies or dietary restrictions (advance notice required).
  • Medications will be safely stored and administered as instructed.
  • Specialty services (e.g., park walks, baths, photo updates) may carry additional charges depending on location or time.

9. Personal Belongings and Damages

  • Happy Paws Mia is not responsible for personal items (toys, blankets, collars, etc.) left with your dog.
  • Owners are responsible for damages caused by their dog, including property repair or replacement costs.
  • Dogs showing aggression or excessive anxiety may be moved to individual care or refused future services.

10. Abandonment and Unclaimed Pets

  • If a pet is not picked up within [X days/hours], we will issue written notice to the owner.
  • If the owner fails to respond, the pet may be surrendered to a local shelter or rescue organization, as permitted by Florida Statute §705.19.
  • After this process, Happy Paws Mia is released from any further responsibility.

11. Modifications to Terms

  • We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.
  • Updates will be posted on our website and become effective fifteen (15) days after publication.
  • Notice may be sent via email, SMS, or physical mail to the contact information provided by the client.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
Any disputes shall be handled exclusively in the courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida.
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will remain in full effect.


13. Additional Provisions

  • In the event of a translation discrepancy, the English version will prevail.
  • Failure to enforce a right or clause does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • By booking with Happy Paws Mia, you confirm that you are of legal age and have full authority over the pet in question.
